In 2015 SACOMM is partnering with the Public Relations Institute of South Africa (PRISA) to present two academic sessions at the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) World Congress, which for the first time is being hosted in South Africa.

The PRISA/SACOMM collaborative initiative for the IPRA World Congress allows SACOMM Corporate Communications members to take advantage of an international congress being hosted on home soil! We encourage our Corporate Communication members to get involved in this opportunity, and submit abstracts for the PRISA/SACOMM sessions to be held at the IPRA World Congress.

IPRA World Congress, date and venue:

The IPRA congress will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre on the 27th-29th of September 2015. The PRISA/SACOMM sessions at the IPRA congress are scheduled to take place from 16:00 on 28 and 29 September 2015.

IPRA World Congress fees for SACOMM delegates:

A special congress registration fee has been negotiated for SACOMM delegates presenting papers or wishing to attend the PRISA/SACOMM sessions at the IPRA congress, of R2000.00 per day, and R4000.00 for both days. This fee covers the attendance of the PRISA/SACOMM sessions only.

Once the final numbers of SACOMM delegates attending the IPRA congress have been determined, a discounted rate for the attendance of the full IPRA congress by SACOMM members will be negotiated and communicated to delegates.

The annual SACOMM Conference:

This year the SACOMM conference will be hosted by AFDA, The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance, at the AFDA Cape Town campus, from 28 – 30 September 2015. The first two days of the SACOMM conference over-lap with the IPRA World Congress.

SACOMM Corporate Communications delegates who wish to submit abstracts for both conferences, and whose abstracts are accepted by both conferences, will have their SACOMM conference paper presentations scheduled for one of the afternoon sessions on 30 September, and according to demand, may present their SACOMM papers via video-conference from a venue in Johannesburg.
